Future Dreams

In recent times a lot of my artwork has been through photography. I've been focussing on architectural details and the natural world - moving in close-up - looking for patterns and colours and quirky juxtapositions of objects and ideas - and then I have a good play around in Photoshop and often surprising images present themselves, pictures and ideas that I hadn't seen when taking the original picture.

Portraits

Portrait of my god-daughter

I love taking pictures of people - particular moments where the light catches the sparkle in their eyes, or they are at peace with themselves - or where they are just having fun - something worth holding onto.

I have also started taking the portrait photograph further by using animation - have a look at Leo on YouTube.

Events

Concert at Box Hill School

I especially enjoy taking candid shots at events - I've been asked to take pictures at parties, local shows and events, weddings, and a funeral. When people are really involved in something that they enjoy or is important to them, that is when you can get some great natural shots and the camera disappears from the picture.

You can see examples of my work on the Royal School of Church Music website (their home page includes some of my pictures in the slide show - I covered the Box Hill Festival, their 75th Anniversary Foundation Service at Westminster Cathedral, and their Summer School in Bath). And here are some galleries from a few of the events I have covered: I have also been experimenting with making "video"s where I join all the photos together in the order they were taken and put it together with a soundtrack. It ends up giving a good flavour of the occasion - and the whole lot takes 3 minutes which is a refreshing change for a wedding video. You can see a couple of the weddings I've done on YouTube:
